Listening for leopards

Many of you were present at the FoNNaP meeting on Saturday, and heard Yumi Yamane talk about her research on leopards. Leopard numbers in Kenya are unknown – they are shy and hard to see. By monitoring leopards in and around NNP, Yumi hopes to establish numbers and draw conclusions about their movements, and how they can be protected especially when in areas inhabited by people and livestock. These are elusive creatures. She would welcome anyone who sees, or hears, a leopard, to let her know. You can email her on : yamane@jambo.africa.kyoto-u.ac.jp

Thankyou!
