  1. Fantastic newsletter, congratulations.
Can anyone tell me if David Hopcraft still has his ranch and wildlife school along the Mombasa road southeast of NNP? His school was affiliated with Princeton.
Re exhaustion of East African land, according to Hopcraft the only way to preserve it is to save native vegetation, and the best way to do that is to temporarily remove cattle and let wildlife graze on it. Antelope don’t need much water, fertilize vegetation with their droppings rather than smothering it, and have hormones in their saliva that stimulate the growth of the plants they browse.
Re Bovine Malignant Catarrhal Fever , this link might be of interest: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bovine_malignant_catarrhal_fever. Perhaps some of you who are scientists can edit, add to or correct it.
May you klink a Tusker in honor of NNP. Cheers
